There are six phases that make up the Counterpoint Retail Management System installation project: Discovery and Planning, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, and Ongoing Support. At times it becomes necessary for phases to overlap, and for movement back and forth between phases.

1. Discovery and Planning

Establish a project team – touch base with our consultants for in-depth discovery and requirement analysis

Hold discovery/requirement analysis meetings – We work with you closely to collect all necessary information around your products, stores, employees, processes, and procedures to be configured with the system

Identify potential gaps and solutions – we formulate the best-fit solutions based on your needs, to know what features are necessary and which aren’t applicable

Build a project plan – Once all requirements are established and agreed upon by all involved, meet with our project manager and software technician for the implementation project plan

2. System Design

Gather and review master records – We map out records related to your company, chart of accounts, items, vendors, customers, and employees in a CSV for importing

Establish initial Counterpoint system configuration settings – Set up your store settings, workgroups, stations, taxes, fees, payments, and more

Create a prototype – Setup and present your a prototype of your system for your review

Define retail management system user roles – Setup permissions and roles for your various employee roles

Document Counterpoint operational procedures – we provide documents for best practices and procedures (such as start of day or closing procedures)

3. Development

Configure retail management system modules – After we finalize your module settings in preparation for training

Configure Point of Sale hardware – All hardware settings are finalized for your testing purposes

Customizations – modify or build new screens, write new reports etc.

4. Testing and Validation

Validate retail system functionality alignment with requirements – we verify and confirm the system has been configured to your specifications

Fine tune point of sale and other system configurations – Any changes necessary are made from your feedback

Establish end user proficiency – Review the end user process and procedures for their own evaluation

Review go-live strategy – Cover the plan of action

5. Deployment and Training

End-user training – we train your team for success with your system, by role such as your managers, directors, and C-level executives

Upload final data – inventory count, customer and vendor balances, etc. – we import data from your previous system if necessary

Fine tune the system – Tweak any changes requested during training

Perform additional training – Train on changes made

Provide onsite installation service – We walk you through installing the hardware and installing or meet you on-site for installation
